Porto Antigo has its own small sandy beach and large swimming pool. It is the prime spot in Santa Maria. The apartment comprises 1 double bedroom, and large large living area. The living area has a dining/kitchen area with extendable table seating up to 6, 4-ring electric hob, large fridge. It's fully equipped for self catering. It also has a very good double bed/sofa, two extra armchairs, TV (CNN, BBC World, Sky News + some European channels) Shower/wc. Patio/ additional dining area. Air conditioned. Some building going on in front during 2008. Apartment is about 50 yards from sea. Towels, linen and cleaning provided. Small safe. 24 hour Reception.

Great for family beach holiday. The safe, protected, sandy beach lies within the small harbour which is within the complex. There are also long stretches of sand beaches a few yards further away. The area is excellent also for watersports, Porto Antigo is about 200 yards from one of santa Maria's two windsurfing centres. Fishing, scuba,and kite-surfing is also available.
There is a restaurant within the complex and the bar/snack restaurant is to one side of the harbour with spectacular sunset views.
Cape Verde is warm enough to sunbathe and swim year round. A regular easterly breeze keeps it comfortable in summer.
Porto Antigo is towards one end of Santa Maria, which is quite small, so it's an easy stroll into the centre. Though developing fast, Sal is still a simple, sleepy kind of place. There's 1 sports bar, but night life tends to revolve round the many excellent fish restaurants.

Adventure Sports, Beach, Restaurant, Water Sports and Rental

Sal is fast becoming an internationaly renowned wind surfing centre and there are a number of windsurfing schools within walking distance of the apartment, suitable for beginners (except when wind and swell gets up) and for more advanced windsurfers. Kite surfing is also popular and there is a kite surfing school. Game fishing is available as is Scuba. Local fishermen keep the restaurants of Sal very well supplied with fresh fish.

We ask for £100 deposit and the balance 1 month before departure. UK guests usually send us payment by cheque, foreign guests by SWIFT transfer. Guests are asked to leave a refundable 200 Euro deposit at Porto Antigo's 24 hour Reception.
