High on an African kopje, with majestic views of the legendary Shashe and Limpopo River confluence; flanked by vista's of uninterrupted African bushveld, teaming with wildlife, you will discover this unique private yet, unassuming lodge, Shalimpo. We strive to ensure that Shalimpo's facilities and service promotes our principles of responsible and sustainable utilization of resources. We take conservation seriously at Shalimpo and have therefore chosen a path of limited, yet sustainable, utilization of natural resources with regards to operating our lodge in this unspoilt and naturally rich area of which we are now honoured to be the custodians. Shalimpo is a small, unassuming, yet stylish lodge accommodating a maximum number of eight guests. All facilities have exquisite, panoramic views of the reserve, confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers and/or the sandstone hills and rock formations on the Zimbabwean/South African sides of the rivers … setting the tone for your exclusive and stylish, yet informal and relaxed stay in one of Africa's most beautiful destinations.  
 
Our facilities at Shalimpo include a well appointed comfortable and functional open plan indoor dining and lounge area, roofed patio flowing into an open air braai facility in an old African boma configuration to spend those crisp clear African nights around the campfire with friends and family. There are four tastefully furnished African safari styled en suite bedrooms to retire to for some solitude, creating a superb alternative to spending time in the lookout shelter, or just sitting admiring the views from the unique natural vantage points on the precipice of the lodge grounds or relaxing at the plunge pool. The large farm styled kitchen is fully equipped and the addition of the old Dover wood stove and two gas rings brings a feeling of old world charm to the kitchen as well as an instant cup of tea when reading your favorite novel on a lazy afternoon.  
 
At Shalimpo we strive to give our guests a well rounded experience of the area and all it has to offer in respect to game, birding, natural features and history, we offer a variety of safari activities which include sunrise and sunset game drives, safari walks, visits to the waterhole hides, outings to interesting sights and spectacular night drives.Our friendly and dedicated local Motswana staff are all on hand to assist our guests and ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing holiday with friends and family; which will have you all counting the days until your next Shalimpo safari holiday.

Housekeeping duties will be performed daily by our friendly housekeepers. Our Safari Guide will accompany you on all your safari activities adding value in an informative and friendly manner highlighting the areas of special interest during your exploration of the area.

At their confluence the rivers enclose two beautiful islands, also within the confines of the reserve. Shalimpo, as with its neighbouring Tuli Block properties, is unfenced and shares a common fauna and flora conservation policy with an abundance of game and bird species. A few of the unique attributes to explore at Shalimpo during your stay at Shalimpo include: 
 
The confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo Rivers. 
 
Some of the largest specimens of tree species, including Leadwood, Mashatu, Fever and Sycamore Fig trees, in the Southern African region. 
 
Two beautiful islands. 
 
The birder's "Big 6" - Pel's Fishing Owl, Saddlebilled Stork, Martial Eagle, Kori Bustard, Ground Hornbill and Lappet-faced Vulture; an outstanding birding area, especially during the summer months.

Our Accommodation Rates are based on a self-catering basis, in South African Rands and are subject to change. Please note that our accommodation is limited to a max of 8 guests, incl of children of all ages. Cancellation Policy: Between 0-7days prior to arrival, 100% cancellation fee. Between 7-14 days prior to arrival, 75% cancellation fee. Between 14-21 days prior to arrival, 50% cancellation fee.Between 21-28 days prior to arrival, 25% cancellation fee. Payment Methods & Terms: Internet transfer, cash and bank guaranteed cheques only. A 50% deposit is required to secure a booking within 14 days after the proforma invoice has been issued. The balance is payable one month prior to arrival.
