One of the wettest places on Earth is Mount Waialeale, located in the center of Kauai. As the most remote of the four major Hawaiian Islands, Kauai has one main highway around part of the island. The entire Na Pali coast area is reached only by hiking, kayaking or a boat expedition.
The highest elevation swamp in the world is located above Mt. Waialeale and reached by an amazing hike thru Kokee State Park. Kauai is the only island with navagitable rivers for kayaking to waterfalls.
