It is simply brimming with stunningly, beautiful fishing villages and ports, towns perched on hillsides, overlooking the sea and little hidden away coves. There are treasures such as St Michaels Mount, a National Trust property and former Benedictine Priory. It is separated from the mainland by a causeway that is entirely submerged when the tide is in – making it only accessible by boat. Take a tour and imagine how life would have been hundreds of years ago and visit the more recently created gardens.
Looking down on the Mount’s Bay is Marazion, one of the oldest towns in Britain and well worth a visit on your holiday or vacation rental. Mount’s Bay is truly beautiful and the immaculate, sandy beach offers wonderful views towards Land’s End and Lizard Peninsula. There are fantastic walks all over this part of Cornwall and taking a lazy stroll and soaking up the sights and scenery is a truly relaxing way to spend a few days.
Just the sound of the names of many of the towns and villages in Cornwall is enough to set the imagination running wild: Bude, Tintagel, St Ives, St Just, Mousehole, Penzance, The Lizard, Mevagissey, Polperro and Looe. With so many inlets and coves it is so rewarding just to get in a car or on a bike and explore village after village. There are lovely little restaurant and great seafood. The landscape is just lovely with cliffs, beaches and greenery. The atmosphere and energy of Cornwall is unique and it is very easy to lose yourself in its relaxed way of life and find yourself yearning to be able to experience it on a full time basis.
Inland the vistas are stunning too and it is well worth a trip to Bodmin and the moor whilst on your holiday rental. It is difficult to describe just how wonderful it is in this part of the world and the only true way to experience it is to take some time out and come and explore it for yourself. You can literally throw the guide books out of the window and just follow the country roads and allow yourself to get lost until you discover the next breath taking sight on your journey and find that you were not lost but have ended up exactly where you want to be.
It can be a wonderfully romantic break or it can be fun for all the family. Cornwall truly is a joy.
