Deia Vacation Rentals

A beautiful town on the north-west coast of Majorca, Deia is famous for it's architecture especially the churches and the stone work which was used to build the houses. Also known for being the home to many famous artists musicians and writers including Robert Graves who was a famous English poet, because of the bohemian character of the area this has attracted many new celebrities to purchase holiday homes such people include Micheal Douglas and Richard Branson who actually brought a small island just off the coast in the area. As the area is surrounded by sea and mountains the two main activities to treat yourself to are water sports such as sailing, water skiing, scuba diving and snorkelling and rock climbing, mountain biking or just hiking up some of the many track paths which run through the mountains.

If you cut through the mountains you will reach some amazing golf courses which Majorca and many other parts of Spain are famous for as it's one of the top and most played sports in the country. Volleyball is also a very popular sport in this town, it is mainly played on the beach. Like many of the Spanish coastal towns in Majorca and in the Balearic islands Deia is a big fishing town, which is why your always going to pick up some amazing fresh fish for the evening which you can cook and have a nice family meal, where apart from the Famous fish which Deia is famous for, Deia is also famous for it's delicious beef, which is why it's known to have many exclusive spanish exotic steak dishes.

There is actually no reason why you wouldn't enjoy yourself in this part of this beautiful island as it's not too busy but not too quite so you can choose to be busy or lazy which ever suits your mood at the time. Whilst out there you can also travel around to some of the other local towns such as Valldemossa where you can always try out one of many short term rental holiday homes in Valldemossa. Valldemossa means 'Beautiful girl', and was home to the famous polish musician and composer Fredic Chopin, who tought many young people music and wrote many peices of music in this village.

Also just down the road from Deia are some privately owned villas in Banylbufar - known for the famous vineyard, which was once there which grew the Malvasy grape which produced a fine, famous wine, however in the century x1x Phylloxera destroyed it, However today the land where the vineyard once laid now grows vegetables which benefits the area more.
