About Sunny Beach:

Bulgaria’s Sunny Beach has something to offer everyone. From shopping to sunbathing; from exciting family waterparks to relaxing pools; from lively bars and nightclubs to quiet candlelit restaurants; from the hustle and bustle of a busy holiday resort to the peace and tranquillity of ancient Nessebar. It is all here for you to explore and discover those aspects that represent your perfect holiday.

Sunny Beach is the largest resort on the superb Black Sea coast and boasts an incredible 8 km stretch of Blue Flag Beach with soft sands. There are a wide variety of beach activities and sports to suit every age. The centre of Sunny Beach includes an abundance of shops and a central market area with stalls offering everything from clothes to fruit. Along the main promenade in the resort there are a wide selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

In the surrounding area there are two Water parks which are very popular with families. Other activities available include Jeep Safari’s, Quad biking and a traditional Bulgarian celebration in Khan’s Tent in the hills outside Sunny Beach.

At the other end of the spectrum of entertainment lies Old Nessebar. The ancient town of Nessebar is a World Cultural Heritage site. It is one of the oldest towns in Europe and is full of impressive buildings and churches of architectural and archaeological significance. There are plenty of lovely little shops, fantastic restaurants and stunning sea views. Old Nessebar is the successor to the ancient Thracian settlement called Messambria founded in the Second century AD. In 510 AD it was turned into Greek colony town by Dorian settlers and became a rival to the town of Apollo for the Black Sea trade. In 72 AD it was occupied by a Roman garrison. It is home to almost 40 preserved churches dating from the 11th to the 14 century.

A holiday in Bulgaria is good value for money with an average meal costing less than £5/€7.50 and a beer costing from 30p/50cents. As in most holiday destinations, prices do vary quite a bit, so it pays to shop around.
