Welcome to Cala Bona, located on Majorca island of the Balearic islands in Spain. There is just so much to do for both adults and children - but it's also very peaceful and quiet, which is perfect for a nice family holiday a great for when you head home to your self catering villa or apartment.
During the day you have many activities such as hiking, mountain biking, golf, go-karting, caving, which is a very big attraction to tourist, there are two main caves to choose from but neither have tour guides to take you around, but they are open for visitors during the day, they are very popular for the dramatic scenery, the lakes that run through them and also in each cave there are 3 mini caves which all seem to be different colours.
Then you have Rancho willy which is a famous horse riding club, which you can choose to go on a single session for 90 minutes of go for an actual trek through the mountains for up to 3 days, the price will include accommodation and food.
There is also the Auto safari zoo, which is home to many animals including lions, tigers and other big cats, Giraffes, Zebra's, elephants and monkeys. You can choose to either drive around in your own car or take the zoo's mini train, if you do choose to drive around be careful of the monkeys they're not big fans of cars and tend to like to damage them.
Just outside Cala Bona, next to Cala Millor, there is the fantasy park outdoor play area which is a paradise for young children as it's known to have everything children love to amuse themselves with.
When it comes to water sports which is a must as Cala Bona is a fishing town. You have the choice of sailing, fishing, water skiing, and there is also the water bottom boats which take you out on trips for the day either north or south heading towards Cala Ratjada north or Porto Cristo south.
If you wanted to go out and get a bit of the livelier night time action then you can also head out to the self catering villas in Palma . There is a lot to do in Palma, as it just happens to be the Major city in Majorca and has the main port as well, so there are a lot more water sports and activities to choose from, with many shops for when a little shopping to be done, that's not to say there aren't any shops in Cala Bona, but there are mainly local markets which sell mostly local food which is perfect for when staying in one of out self catering properties.
Also just a short ride away are some short term rental apartments in Soller. Just the journey alone by car to get to Soller is not for the faint-hearted as you will be travelling through many mountains although might seem peaceful with the scenery and looking at the sea at the same time, it's known to be a scary ride so it's recommended to just stick to the train which will get you there a lot quicker. But when you get there it's perfect for the families which are looking for a nice and peaceful holiday with lot's of nature scenery to check out including the famous olive trees.
