Haarlam is also known as 'Bloemenstad' meaning 'flower city'. This is because it's been a major trading centre for tulips for almost 400 years, and is still known for that today. Every year in April the Bloemenstad (flower parade) takes place, where you can see the parade of flower-decorated floats drive from Noordwijk to Haarlem. Haarlem is also surrounded by Tulip fields, making it the perfect location for relaxing, romantic walks across the country.

There's also several museums for you explore from your short term rental house in Harrlam. The Teylers Museum covers art, science and natural history and features works by Michelangelo and Rembrandt. There's also the Frans Hals Museum, Het Dolhuys - a museum of psychiatry, and the Ten Boom Museum.

One of Haarlam's best features is it's location near Amsterdam. Just a 15 minute train ride will take you into the capital, where you can spend days exploring the stunning city: seeing it's architecture, taking trips on the canal, seeing the museums, or see it's world-famous nightlife.
