In its early days, Palm Springs became the vacation playground of the Hollywood stars, including Marilyn Monroe, Gloria Swanson, Jack Benny, Elvis, Tab Hunter, etc. This list of Hollywood superstars that called Palm Springs their very own desert paradise is just too long for this short article. Today, local tours will take you into the past with visits to many of the homes of well known stars, some of whom are still in residence today.
Best known for it's abundant sunshine, golf courses, and majestic mountains, Palm Springs seems to have something for everyone. The Village Fest features many hand made crafts and artists, and showcases many dancers and musicians to add to the evening entertainment. Make sure to take a ride on the horse drawn carriages that circulate through the downtown district on many nights.
