Up in the north west of Lanzarote you will find the beautiful resort of Famara - a Surfers paradise. Surfing, as well as fishing, is the main sport happening on the resort which is why it hosts one of the most important surfing competitions in the world. If you wanted to get involved in some surfing then there are many schools which do lessons and are known to make you ready in a day, and to prepare you for this there is a second smaller private beach where they teach you.
Tamara is also an old fishing town which makes the sea food restaurants so amazing still to this day. Because of the very strong currents it's been advised not to go swimming too far out, but being closer to shore is much more a safer suggested idea. Other sports which are known to the area are kite surfing, golf, mountain hiking and mountain biking, because of the strong current many children like to just stick to the swimming pool in hotels which is why it's well recommended to just rent a private property so you can just relax in peace at night. The area is also a big hot spot for sun worshippers as it's hot all year around and has amazing views from the cliffs which makes a romantic setting.
If you wanted to take a look around the neighbouring areas you have private villas in Costa Teguise or you could try Puerto Del Carmen, where you can try out some of the self catering apartment, which is a lot more of a livelier place.
The cliffs of Famara are definitely a place to visit especially for couples as they are known to be one of the most romantic places in the world. Famara is definitely more of a destination for couples but still has the wow factor for the family.
