Utah Vacation Rental Information
Some points of interest for those looking to rent a vacation home in Utah:
This state is amazingly diverse in what it has to offer especially to those with a liking for outdoor activities. It has wonderful skiing terrain and is world famous for its numerous slopes and fantastic snow – it was even the setting for the 2002 Winter Olympics based at the famous Salt Lake City. But this is only a taste of what the great outdoors in Utah has to offer as it also promises great golf courses, water sports, white water rafting and biking to name but a few.
But not only is Utah a state to visit for activity holidays but it has a rich and colourful history. It was a lynch pin in the history of the Wild West and was home to such colourful figures as Butch Cassidy and Billy the Kid. It still maintains this link with a multitude of Wild West shows as well as having numerous places to enjoy the ever-popular “Chuck wagon” dinner!!
But it is not just Cowboys that this state is well known for. Long before the Cowboy came, Native American tribes inhabited this land. In fact the state name, Utah, is derived from one of the peoples who lived here, the Ute. But Utah was also home to many more tribes including the Navajo, Paiute, Goshute and Shoshone. These were mainly hunter/gatherer tribes that lived freely from the land. Utah has many National Parks and trails that help reflect a slice of history and the way of life of these American Native peoples.
Utah also offers great opportunities for boating holidays and enthusiasts can flock to one of the many state parks that offer boating such as Antelope Island State Park, Great Salt Lake State Park or Utah Lake to name but a few.
The state is also famous for its numerous trails that suit all types including mountain bikers, snowmobile trailers, hikers and horse riders – remember this is the land of the fabled Pony Express where tough riders would rush to deliver mail through the most inhospitable terrain… try following their routes in a more leisurely manner on the back of a slightly slower horse.
The Mormons also travelled here and you can rediscover their history, at least in part, by experiencing the Mormon Pioneer Trail.
It really is worth the trip as there is so much to see and do for the whole family on a Utah vacation rental.
