Madeira Beach Florida is located on the Gulf Coast a short 28 miles from Tampa International Airport. Madeira Beach is a vacation location but also a working fishing community. Daily, local fisherman leave from their docks to fish the Gulf of Mexico. You can join them from the numerous private or group charters from “Johns Pass Marina”. If you do not want to fish then take a dolphin watching tour.
Getting to the Orlando area for a day or two of theme parks is only 100 miles away, traveling on interstate hwy 4, you cannot miss it, just look the large hydro towers in the shape of Mickey Mouse Ears.
Hockey, football (USA style), and baseball are all within 30 miles or less of Madeira Beach.
If you like to take a chance and win a few dollars, there are two casinos. A large land based one in Tampa, or you can take a afternoon or evening cruise on the gambling boats out of Johns Pass.
If you’re a golfer, then open the Sunday paper and pick your links, they are everywhere. From local to private courses, in the off season most private course allow visitors, just call ahead and confirm.
Shopping, you can shop to you drop, take a drive to the Ellenton Outlet Mall, just a short drive away, but bring your credit card, the deals are too good to miss. On your way down you will get to cross the Sun Shine Bridge it is an amazing site and you get a fantastic view of the Gulf and Tampa Bay.
