Tankah Vacation Rentals

Tankah is in the heart of the Riviera Maya and is still developing into a community of million dollar properties, many which are available for rental to discriminating guests. Tankah Bay is a pristine bay enclosed inside the world's second longest coral reef, home for colorful tropical fish and many varieties of coral and sea plants. At present there are no power boats to pollute these waters with the only vehicles to be kayaks, wind surfers and kite boarders. There are no restrictions on where snorkelers and swimmers can explore but touching fragile coral and plants is frowned upon. Sport fly fishermen enjoy catching and releasing the permit fish. A unique feature of Tankah is the Manatee Cenote which is a fresh water river extending back into the mangrove jungle and then submerges through an underground cavern to bubble out into the Mar Caribe. It is a favorite for beginners to learn the art of cave diving. However, as the humans arrived the manatees have left and are now a rare sight. From Tankah it is a short drive to many attractions such as the ruins at Tulum and the larger and touchable ruins at Coba with the highest pyrimid in Maya country. Muyil is a small ruins but is unique because you can take a float trip through the ancient Maya canals and lagoons. Xel-Ha lagoons and entertainment park is a five minute drive as is Dos Ojos and the cable bicycles through the caverns at Hidden Worlds. The colonial cities of Carrillo Puerto and Valladolid are a little farther but well worth the drive. Izamal is a beautiful cathedral city that Pope John Paul visited and lesser known by most tourists. The Mayan influence and culture can be seen everywhere and some villages the Maya are still only inhabitants. Probably the finest feature of Tankah is the ultra pure ocean trade winds blowing from thousands of miles of open ocean and provides the villas with the best air conditioning possible and keeps the temperature between 75-95 F. year round with only occasional exceptions. The second best feature is the sunshine with its health benefits but has to be taken in moderation. One can fly from NY and many places and be in Mexico by noon and on a Tankah beach shortly thereafter. This adds time to your vacation coming and going. Come enjoy the paradise know as Tankah!
