The village of Alhaurin de la Torre is situated approx. 10 km. from Malaga Airport, 18 km. from the city of Malaga, and 12 km. from the closest beach (Torremolinos), and 5 km. from the nearest golf course.

The climate is one of the most privileged of Andalucia, mild winters with a few rainy days and sun all year round.
The centre of the village has a pretty park (where most couples go to have their wedding photos) with a children’s play area, several banks, pharmacies, Post Office, a good size supermarket, covered market (for fruit, vegetables, fish, and meat), and every other type of shop you would need from a hardware store to a jewellers. There are also several cafés, the village square, and the quaint parish church San Sebastian. The outer area of the village has a variety restaurants including local cuisine, Chinese, Lebanese, Argentinian. There is also a mini supermarket open 24 hrs. every day.
There is a weekly open-air market on a Wednesday.
Although a car is highly recommended to take full advantage of the wide variety of attractions, there is a good bus service to Malaga.
It is an ideal location for those who prefer to be a little further inland, surrounded by mountains, but with easy access to the beach.
About 5 min. by car there is a large shopping/leisure centre (Plaza Mayor) which has a variety of shops, eating places, bowling alley, cinema complex, and even an Ikea.
Within close proximity are lakes, reservoirs, popular beaches, wild life park, water park, zoo, Tivoli theme park, to name a few attractions.
Ronda, Granada, Cordoba, and Gibraltar each make an interesting day trip.
There are many activities to choose from including horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, water sports, golf.
