About Krakow (Cracow) Vacation Rental Homes.

Whether you call it Krokow or Cracow, a visit to what is known as the unofficial cultural capital of Poland will make for a Polish vacation that you'll remember forever, whatever name you call it! A rental apartment in Krokow is the perfect way to see the sights of this amazing city.

Take a long walk around the historic city center, an old city called Stare Miasto, and see the stunning buildings, monuments and parks. Up on the hill lies Wawel Castle, a royal castle and cathedral that have been used by Polish royalty for centuries and houses the Crown Treasury and armory, where you can find the Polish Crown Jewels. Near the Castle, in the Wawel Hill, is the Smocza Jama or "Dragon's Den", the best known cave in Poland said to have once been the lair of the Wawel Dragon. The Florian Gate is the only part of the original walls that used to surround the city that has survived to this day, and gives you a good idea as to what the city walls might have looked like back in the Middle Ages. There's also plenty of tranquil parks to explore, including the gardens of Planty that surrounds the city where the old walls used to be, and the Wawel Gardens.

Krokow is also full of museums and art galleries, including the main branch of the Polish National Museum featuring the Gallery of the Twentieth Century Polish Art, one of the largest art galleries in Poland, and the Decorative Arts and Crafts Gallery, with artifacts covering over 800 years. The Czartoryski Museum features several paintings by famous artists, including Rembrandt's "Landscape with Good Samaritan" and da Vinci's "Lady with an Ermine". Any lover of art will find much to enjoy with a privately owned apartment in Krokow.

Krokow is perfect for a self-catering holiday with it's many shops and supermarkets, as well as plenty of restaurants to enjoy. The Old Town is a great place to go shopping, with it's many antique, craft and art shops.

Of course it's well worth taking the time during your Polish vacation to see some of the other local sights in the area. South of Krokow, near the Slovakian boarder, is the town of Szczawnica. Famous for it's 200 year old spas and it's skiing trails, you could try a lovely short term rental apartment in Szczawnica to really enjoy this beautiful resort town. Another choice for those who love to ski is the town of Zakopane. With a privately owned villa in Zakopane you can see the Ski trails, caves, and traditional Polish restaurants in this alpine town.
