Sprucecot Serves Many Purposes
We are quite picky about making Sprucecot welcoming for visitors. I am right next door and able to respond to needs or requests quickly. I have lived in Sitka since 1956 when I came to Sitka as a nurse to work with the TB epidemic and know the city and its folks well. There have never been guests whose needs we could not fulfill. We have hosted multi-generational family groups, wedding parties, fishing parties, an opera company, part of an orchestra, handicapped folks, a basketball team, a dance party with a live band. I have helped with fancy and large dinner parties, huge birthday parties, catered dinner parties, grieving families, families whose house has burned.
Sprucecot works especially well for group meetings, retreats.
Our large garden is a boon to guests who help themselves to flowers, vegetables, herbs.
Sprucecot has much original and quite valuable art on its walls.
All this variety keeps me young!
