Lost in France, or should I say Languedoc
I had spent a career in law enforcement but the beauty of this was that it allowed for early retirement, not only that but to take part of the pension as cash.
We had been travelling to France for our annual holidays for a number of years and finally ended up at Beziers in the south.
The area so impressed me that I decided to invest my cash in a house in a village, called Capestang. This was now 20 years ago.
This is an old village by le Canal du Midi of some 3000 inhabitants, full of old world charm, close to the Med.
I never regretted it - we let the house out to visitors to help with running costs.
