My place in the sun
We have owned Casa Linda since the autumn of 2001. When we bought it originally it didn't have a kitchen or proper bathroom and was in need of modernisation. Gradually over the last few years we have refurbished the house to a high standard. It is the ideal holiday home as you have everything you need in the village but can venture further if the whim takes you.
The village itself is lovely as it is the real spain and totally different from the costa's. You will see old men walking their mules through the village in the evenings and teenagers riding theirs to the sweet shop! The villagers are very friendly and there always seems to be a fiesta happening. One of the best times to visit is Easter when the whole village carries the saints through the village on flower strewn carts. Twelth night is also great as 3 men ride through the village throwing sweets to the children who then all go to the square to get a present each from the town hall.
My favourite bit of the house is the roof terrace. The views are stunning right down to the sea which is 12 miles away and if you are really lucky on a clear evening you can see the Atlas mountains in Morroco. I love sitting there having a nice glass of wine listening to the sounds of the village and watching the sun set. At night you can see the distant lights of Torre del Mar and villages that cling to the side of the hills.
The biggest natural feature of the village is the National park it backs onto and Mount Maroma providing a magnificent backdrop to your photos and some great walking opportunties.
