One of the best kept secrets in Mexico!
We didn't come to San Carlos to buy a condo on the marina. We stayed at the Marina Terra to look at another complex on the beach. It is a beautiful beach with some ideally placed condos, so we drove out 5 miles to see them while staying at the marina.
The problem was that everything we wanted to do was at the marina, except for going to the beach! We walked to restaurants, chatted in local markets, went on fishing charters, snorkeled with the sea lions, and basically spent all of our time near the marina, except for going to one of the 3 excellent beaches. So, we started looking at properties at the marina with the spectacular view of an ancient, extinct volcano, Mt. Tetakawi, looming mysteriously in the background.
As soon as we looked at the view from the condo, we were hooked. This was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEW IN SAN CARLOS! We looked at other areas, other condos, houses, including the beach condos, often. Nothing compared to the amazing view, the location, and the condo itself. My wife and I found a local realtor who worked and worked all summer until we finally secured the place we wanted.
Many, many improvements and a few years later, we now have a spectacular condo with an unbeatable view in a perfect location. And then, we discovered that the view isn't only from the the living room balcony and the King Suite balcony, the Queen Suite balcony also has views of the Sea of Cortes, amazing sunrises, and the little town of San Carlos. We would like to stay in San Carlos for months on end, but we still work hard at other jobs. So, we have expert property managers take care of the day to day workings of renting our condo in San Carlos.
